The laser assisted field electron emission from carbon nanostructure

چکیده
We present experimental and theoretical study of the femtosecond light-assisted field electron emission from nanocarbon films. We demonstrate that irradiation with intense femtosecond laser pulse allows one to achieve electron emission density of up to 13 nC/cm at a moderate applied static electric filed. The developed model well describes obtained experimental results and allows us to visualize physical mechanisms including heating of electron gas, multiphoton photoionization, and the space charge formation, which are responsible for the observed phenomena.

Microwave Assisted Synthesis of Polycrystalline Flower-like ZincOxide Nanostructure Using Dicationic Ionic Liquid
In this paper, synthesis of the flower-like zinc oxide was performed using microwave assisted dicationic ionic liquid [mmp(im)2 ]Br2 . The polycrystalline flower-like zinc oxide nanostructure was obtained when a suitable mole ratio (ionic liquid /zinc acetate) and short duration microwave was used. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and photoluminescence (PL) spectra w...
متن کاملDynamical simulation of field emission in nanostructures
An efficient computational scheme based on the first-principles pseudopotential method is proposed for the electron emission from nanostructures under an applied electric field. The emission rate of the electron through the potential barrier is calculated by integrating the time-dependent Schrödinger equation for the states residing initially inside the emitter. Our approach takes into account ...
متن کاملDetermination of Residual Stress of PACVD Nanostructure TiN Coatings by GIXRD Method
In this study, thin layers of titanium nitride (TiN) were deposited on H13 steel substrates at different duty cycles and temperature of 520 ˚C using plasma assisted chemical vapor deposition (PACVD). Uniaxial residual stress was calculated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Sin2 Ψ method. Then the residual stress of the samples were measured by Grazing Incidence X-ray Diffraction (GIXRD) method and...
متن کاملEffect of sp2-phase nanostructure on field emission from amorphous carbons
Electron field emission from amorphous carbon is found to depend on the clustering of the sp phase. The size of the sp phase is varied by thermal annealing and it dominates the effect of other parameters, such as chemical composition, surface termination, sp content, or conductivity. The optimum size of the sp phase is determined by Raman spectroscopy and is of the order of 1 nm. The field emis...
متن کاملSelf-assembled growth, microstructure, and field-emission high-performance of ultrathin diamond nanorods.
We report the growth of ultrathin diamond nanorods (DNRs) by a microwave plasma assisted chemical vapor deposition method using a mixture gas of nitrogen and methane. DNRs have a diameter as thin as 2.1 nm, which is not only smaller than reported one-dimensional diamond nanostructures (4-300 nm) but also smaller than the theoretical value for energetically stable DNRs. The ultrathin DNR is enca...
